A prospectve study was carried out in ASA grade 1 and 2 patents to fnd out the efectveness of Tramadol in patent controlled analgesia (PCA). Thirty patents (10 male and 20 female) operated in routne and emergency list were given Tramadol for post operatve pain for PCA. The efectveness of Tramadol for pain relief was good but post operatve nausea and vomitng was observed in 30% and poor sedaton in 40%. No cardiovascular and respiratory depression was notced in any patents. Key Words: Drug: Patent controlled analgesia (PCA), Tramadol
